When The Veil is Thinnest

Oct 29, 2025

October always carries a certain hum in the air, doesn’t it? The nights grow longer, the leaves crunch underfoot, and the energy shifts into something both mysterious and sacred. We enter the time of Samhain - pronounced Sow-in - when the veil between this world and the spirit world is said to be at its thinnest.

It’s no wonder people feel that deep tug in their hearts to connect with their loved ones on the other side during this season. Grief doesn’t follow a calendar - whether you lost someone last month or twenty years ago, that ache never fully disappears. But October seems to whisper, “They’re closer than you think.”

Here’s the truth: evidence from Spirit is incredible. When a name, a favorite song, or a private memory comes through, it makes us gasp and know without question that our loved ones are still with us. But beyond the evidence, what matters most is the message - the words of comfort, the gentle reminder that love never dies, the knowing that they are safe, whole, and still watching over us.

That message, more than the evidence itself, is what brings peace. It softens the edges of grief. It allows us to breathe a little deeper, to release some of the heaviness, and to continue walking forward while holding our loved ones in a new way.

There’s also something deeply healing about being witnessed in that moment. When Spirit shows up with words or signs, it isn’t just about you receiving them - it’s about you knowing that your grief, your love, your story is seen. That validation alone can shift a person from feeling lost in mourning to realizing they are part of a continuing bond that transcends this physical world.

And for those who have carried loss for decades, the connection is just as profound. To hear from someone you haven’t been able to hug in what feels like forever can be life-changing. It’s like a warm blanket laid over years of longing - not erasing the loss, but offering solace that endures.

This is why so many reach out during Samhain. The season itself encourages us to remember, to honor, to speak the names of those who came before us. The veil may be thinner, but it’s also our hearts that are more open, ready to receive, ready to be comforted.

So if you find yourself yearning for connection right now, know that it’s natural. Know that Spirit is listening. And know that when those whispers come - in dreams, in signs, in readings - they are more than just proof. They are love, reaching across the veil, reminding you that you are never truly alone.

If this season has stirred something within you - a longing to connect, to receive messages, or simply to sit in sacred space where Spirit is welcome - I invite you to reach out. Whether through a reading, a circle, or quiet guidance, I would be honored to walk beside you as we listen together for the voices of love that never fade.  You can contact me at [email protected]
